About Me

My background I began playing the violin in 3rd grade (about 30 years ago!), and in 9th grade I started playing the viola. I was the principal violist in my high school’s Chamber Orchestra and Philharmonic Orchestra. I graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and put my musical interests on hold while I taught school, married, and started a family. I have 4 children, two of whom are currently taking piano lessons, so I know what it's like being a music parent, as well as a music teacher. I began teaching violin in March 2018 and absolutely love it! It perfectly combines my passions for education, children, and music. My philosophy I prepare each student for success by learning their musical strengths and interests, developing a relationship of trust and mutual respect, and pointing out the positive.
